cold remedy causes 2 deaths from brain-eating amoeba

I'll stick to Theraflu, pills, and whiskey.

U.S state issues health warning after neti pot is linked to two deaths. A sinus-flushing device used to relieve colds and allergies has been linked to a deadly brain-eating amoeba.  It is thought the amoeba entered their brains when they used the devices.

  1. Netti pots! We sold a fair amount of those at CVS...I hear they work....but you have to use clean water. And by clean I mean boiled or distilled....

  2. The trick appears to be distilled / clean water and clean Netti pot. Still, the potential of a possible brain-eating amoeba if the pot or water are contaminated are enough to make me very reluctant to try this remedy.
